Residential Fire ** Signal 99 Fly Road **
Sat. Feb 20th 2016

(Dispatch) 03:19 ** F-FIRE-RESIDENTIAL ** FLY RD / E TAFT RD ** - ** ** FLR 1 NBY 432-8 ** FLY RD AND E TAFT RD **

Units were activated this morning for reports of a residential fire in the area of Fly and Taft. Originally dispatched as a structural box in the North Syracuse Fire District calling for ESFD Engine 4, Onondaga County Fire Dispatch quickly dispatched a full ESFD activation when the address was confirmed in our district.

ESFD Car 4 responded and went on location with a 2 story wood frame with heavy fire throughout the structure. Car 4 requested a Signal 99 and ordered exterior operations due to the heavy involvement and collapse of the roof. He also requested that units on the road from the North Syracuse Box to continue in to the scene.

ESFD Units Responded In:

  • Engines 2,3,4
  • Trucks 1 and 2
  • Rescue 1
  • Squad 2
Firefighters stretched 3 lines and began operations. Truck 1 and 2 were also set up for master stream operations. After the bulk of the fire was knocked down companies entered the structure to mop up hot spots.

Also On Scene:
  • North Syracuse Engine
  • Mattydale Engine
  • Cicero Engine
  • Eaves Ambulance
  • Town of DeWitt Police
  • Onondaga County Fire Investigators
The home was at the time vacant and destroyed by fire. There were no injuries reported and the investigation was turned over to the Onondaga County Fire Investigators.
